Editors' note

Triarchy, established by siblings Mark, Adam, and Ania Taubenfligel in 2011, evolved from a conventional denim brand into an exemplar of responsible manufacturing in the denim world. Recognizing the environmental harm from traditional denim processes, they halted production in 2016 to re-imagine a more sustainable approach. Their dedication bore fruit three years later.

Today, Triarchy stands out for its commitment to the environment and mindful consumption. Here are its distinctive attributes:

  • Innovative Materials: Triarchy jeans are crafted from certified organic cotton, recycled cotton, Tencel, and Refibra. Notably, they’ve introduced the world’s first plastic-free stretch denim using natural rubber, ensuring biodegradability in 2 years or less.
  • Water Conservation: Utilizing e-flow, ozone, and laser technologies, Triarchy has significantly diminished water and chemical usage in its denim wash processes.
  • Carbon Neutrality: Triarchy offsets carbon emissions for each pair of jeans, aligning with various global projects. The outcome? A carbon-neutral brand.
  • Transparency: Unique QR codes in every garment link to Triarchy’s supply chain mapped on Retraced, and detailed manufacturing practices via Greenstory.
  • Ethical Production: Every piece of Triarchy denim respects human and animal rights, with third-party vetting by GreenStory and Renoon ensuring the brand’s commitment to responsible operations.
  • Plastic-Free Pioneers: They exclusively offer plastic-free stretch jeans till 2024, a commendable step toward eliminating micro-plastics from fashion.

Triarchy incorporates recycled materials even in the minute details, such as buttons and labels. And for the icing on the cake? A tree is planted for every pair of jeans sold, further fortifying their commitment to the environment. When it comes to sustainable denim, Triarchy crafts jeans that aren’t just wearables, but a statement of responsible fashion.
