Saana ja Olli is an award-winning design studio based in Turku, Finland, pioneered by a designer couple. Their dedication shines through in their 100% hemp textile collection, crafted with care in Southwestern Finland.
Their journey began in the serene woods of Oripää, where they not only found love but also a shared passion for sustainable textile design. Seeing a gap in the market for eco-conscious interior textiles, they began creating unique designs, with their initial collection of interior pillows being an instant hit. With friends and design partners Mimosa Hellman and Vivi Lehmusjärvi on board, they’ve broadened their horizon, serving international clients like Lipton, Isetan, and Amnesty International. Their works even earned them a spot on Monocle magazine’s Top 25 Global Homeware list.
At the heart of their designs are three foundational philosophies:
- Durability: Crafting high-quality, lasting products with timeless appeal.
- Sustainability: Ensuring a brighter future for coming generations with every design.
- Local Production: Embracing Finnish heritage, they ensure transparency in their process, supporting the local economy and professionals. Everything, from printing to sewing, happens locally, even utilizing renewable energy sources such as wind, hydro, and solar for their operations.
They are staunch advocates for European hemp fabrics, which require fewer resources and have numerous environmental benefits, from better carbon dioxide conversion to soil enhancement.
Saana ja Olli proudly bear The Key Flag Symbol, reflecting their commitment to Finnish quality. Their products are a testament to sustainable, transparent, and timeless design.
