Pololo is a Berlin-based brand, synonymous with the conscious blend of quality, ecology, and modern design in children’s footwear. Since its inception in 2003, Pololo has strived to offer shoes crafted with meticulous attention to detail, fit, and adherence to the highest ecological standards.
When Franziska Kuntze, Pololo’s founder, couldn’t find children’s shoes that combined beautiful design with ecological materials, she decided to create them herself. The brand now offers an extensive collection that emphasizes fair and sustainable management, ecological production, and clear, modern shoe design.
Products include:
- Leather shoes made from vegetable-tanned, soft, allergy-friendly leather.
- Vegan shoes created from innovative materials such as cactus leather alternative, organic cotton, or upcycled marine plastic.
- Pololo’s Barefoot collection, which promotes healthy foot development with features like wide toe clearance and natural vegetable-tanned leather.
- Special vegan textile shoes made from upcycled marine plastic (SEAQUAL® YARN), actively contributing to cleaning the oceans.
- Vegan sneakers made from a cactus leather alternative, supporting controlled organic cultivation.
Production takes place in Spain, while sales and management are controlled by Franziska and her team in Berlin. In addition to their online webshop, Pololo offers personal professional service and even has a ShowRoom in Berlin-Zehlendorf.
Pololo’s commitment goes beyond prescribed legal regulations. The brand actively shapes global ecological and social standards for clothing, as emphasized by Franziska Kuntze’s active role as chairperson of the International Association for Natural Textiles since 2018.
Pololo has stood as a firm friend to children and their feet, offering quality, people, and environment-friendly footwear, all while embodying a great responsibility towards the environment and future generations.
